Niger’s Minister of State for National Defence, General Salifou Mody, has visited the command post of the Unified Force of the Alliance of Sahel States (FU-AES).

The tour, held on Tuesday, aimed to assess the progress of the joint military framework established by Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. Senior officers accompanied the minister during the visit.

General Mody also took part in a detailed briefing that outlined key initiatives carried out since the phased launch of the regional force in late July.

Officials say the FU-AES represents a major step toward strengthening collective security and countering regional threats.
