Ahead of the planned nationwide protest to start on August 1 by many groups in Nigeria, the police in Zamfara State, one of the worst hit States by criminal activities in the North Western region, are calling for caution.
The Commissioner of Police in the State, Mohammed Dalijan said most of the organisers are criminals and unemployed youth who want to take advantage of the protest to perpetrate crime.
The police chief, who made the assertion during a meeting of stakeholders he convened in his office, was, however, countered by a Labour Union leader who said the labelling was wrong.
