Nigeria’s health sector is facing possible paralysis as the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has issued a strike threat over what it calls “unilateral and unfair” government decisions affecting medical professionals.

The NMA is demanding urgent intervention and says it will down tools nationwide if the Federal Government fails to act by July 23.

The looming strike adds to growing tensions in the sector, which continues to grapple with resource shortages and brain drain.
