Nigerian Army Kills ISWAP Commanders In North East Clash

The Nigerian army has announced the killing of at least eight Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters, including several senior field commanders, in the North East.

The clash is the latest reminder of the protracted insurgency that has plagued the Lake Chad Basin for more than a decade. The conflict has left communities devastated, with widespread displacement, destruction of livelihoods, and severe economic hardship.
