Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, has called for the creation of food systems that are resilient, sustainable, and capable of outlasting electoral cycles.
Speaking at a national food systems conference organized by Sahel Consulting in Abuja, the minister stressed that long-term planning is essential to achieving food security and boosting national prosperity.
He noted that Nigeria’s agricultural sector must shift from short-term interventions to structures that deliver consistent results, even amid political transitions.
Stakeholders at the event also emphasized collaboration, innovation, and accountability as key drivers for strengthening agriculture and improving livelihoods across the country.
