In Nigeria, UN Women is calling for urgent action to tackle the growing cases of gender-based violence across the country.

The appeal comes as Nigeria joins the global community in marking International Women’s Day under the theme “Give to Gain.”

The organisation is urging authorities to strengthen legal protections and enforcement mechanisms to better safeguard women and girls.
