Nigeria’s Senate has announced plans to hold an executive briefing on the United States air strikes carried out in Sokoto State on December 25, 2025.

The strikes were confirmed by U.S. President Donald Trump, who said the operation targeted terrorist groups operating in the area.

However, Nigerian lawmakers have raised concerns about the lack of legislative oversight in the operation, questioning how such a major military action was conducted without parliamentary involvement.

The planned briefing is expected to address transparency, sovereignty, and the role of national institutions in security operations involving foreign forces.
