The Nigerian Senate has launched a probe into allegations that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is financing terrorism in the country.

The decision follows a motion raised by Senator Ali Ndume (APC, Borno South) during a plenary session in Abuja.

As part of the investigation, security intelligence chiefs have been summoned to provide insights into the claims.
