In response to a growing meningitis outbreak, the Nigerian government has received over one million vaccine doses from a Gavi-funded global emergency stockpile.
The outbreak has already claimed more than 70 lives and over 800 cases have been recorded across several states.
Health authorities say the vaccines will be swiftly deployed to affected regions to contain the spread and prevent further fatalities.
The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control is working with partners to strengthen surveillance and ensure timely treatment and vaccination in high-risk communities.
