In Nigeria, opposition political parties have rejected the newly signed Electoral Act 2026, calling for further amendments to strengthen transparency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The parties argue that the law does not adequately ensure real-time electronic transmission of election results, a provision they consider essential for credible polls.
