In a major political shakeup, Nigeria’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has officially resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), ending months of speculation about his political future.
Abubakar’s decision was confirmed in a formal letter submitted to the PDP leadership, signaling his departure from the party he has long been associated with.
Despite this high-profile exit, Oyo State Governor and prominent PDP figure, Seyi Makinde, maintains that the party remains strong and united. Atiku is expected to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), although no official statement has been made by his new political base.
