The Nigerian military has committed to intensifying its fight against insurgency following a surge in attacks in the North-East.
Major General Edward Buba, spokesperson for the Defence Headquarters, stated in Abuja on Thursday that these recent incidents in Borno State are linked to an influx of foreign fighters from the Sahel region. These agents are reportedly reinforcing Boko Haram and affiliated groups, heightening security challenges in the region.
The military plans to strengthen its operations and collaborate with regional partners to address these growing threats effectively.
