Nigeria has commemorated World Mental Health Day with an outreach program targeting displaced persons in the Kuchigoro IDP Camp in Abuja.
The initiative, organized by the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, in partnership with Purple Hands Empowerment Initiative, provided counseling, therapy, and awareness sessions on mental well-being.
Experts say the effort aims to address the growing mental health crisis in Nigeria, where millions—especially internally displaced persons—struggle with trauma and depression amid limited access to care.
