Nigeria is losing an estimated 9 billion dollars each year to illegal mining practices.

This figure was disclosed by Jonathan Gaza, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Solid Mineral at the National Assembly during a public hearing.

The inquiry session came on the need to investigate illegal mining in the solid mineral sector.
