In Nigeria, the House of Representatives has called on the Federal Government to reverse its blanket ban on recognizing university degrees obtained from Benin Republic and Togo.
Lawmakers argue that the policy should be reconsidered to avoid penalizing Nigerians who earned legitimate qualifications from accredited institutions in the two countries.
They stressed the need for a more balanced approach that distinguishes between fraudulent institutions and genuine universities.
The call comes as lawmakers push for a review of the policy to protect students who pursued recognized academic programs abroad.
