Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission has announced a revised timetable, moving the presidential election to January 16, 2027.

INEC says the adjustment is intended to give political parties, candidates, and other stakeholders adequate time to meet statutory requirements under the Electoral Act.

The Commission maintains that the revised schedule is part of efforts to ensure a smooth and well-organized electoral process.
