Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially launched the second phase of its nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
The initiative is part of preparations for the 2027 general elections, targeting eligible citizens who have not yet registered to vote.
While millions participated in the first phase in 2025, there remains a significant gap between online applications and completed physical registrations.
INEC says efforts are underway to bridge this gap, and reactions from citizens and political stakeholders have been mixed.
