Security efforts in Nigeria’s Lake Chad Basin have received a boost following a successful military operation in Borno State.
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, supported by the Civilian Joint Task Force, repelled a terrorist attack along the Damboa–Maiduguri corridor.
At least twenty-one suspected ISWAP fighters were killed during the operation, with weapons and logistical supplies also intercepted.
Security sources say the development is expected to significantly weaken the group’s operational capacity in the area.
