A catastrophic flood has ravaged the city of Maiduguri, capital of Borno State, North East Nigeria.

The disaster triggered by the collapse of the Alau dam following days of torrential rainfall left behind a trail of destruction and almost all activities halted.

WADR’s Usman Umar in Abuja, reports that rescue efforts and humanitarian response are continuing in affected communities including the state capital, where hundreds of homes and offices are inundated.
