The Nigerian government has been slapped with a 100,00 USD fine by the Federal Capital Territory High Court.
The fine is awarded to the Former Governor of the Central Bank Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, for his prolonged detention in custody without trial.
Emefiele demanded One hundred million dollars for unlawful detention.
As Oge Obierika reports, the court deemed the detention a violation of Emefiele’s fundamental rights.
