The ECOWAS Court of Justice has accused Nigeria of failing to respect a significant number of its rulings, raising fresh concerns about compliance with regional judicial decisions.
According to the sub-regional court, Abuja has not implemented nearly 80 percent of its judgments, a development described as troubling for the credibility of regional justice mechanisms.
The issue was highlighted by the President of the ECOWAS Court, Ricardo Gonçalves, during his ongoing visit to Nigeria.
The concerns underscore growing tensions over the enforcement of community court decisions and the broader commitment of member states to uphold regional legal obligations.
