Nigeria has joined forces with the European Union and Germany to launch a €18 million programme aimed at strengthening agriculture and food security.
The four-year initiative, called the EU-VACE TARED Project, will be implemented in seven states, focusing on dairy, cocoa, tomato, and ginger. Officials say it will reduce food imports, create jobs, and transform rural economies.
At the launch in Abuja, European and Nigerian representatives described the project as a turning point for the country’s agricultural sector and a step toward greater self-sufficiency.
