Nigeria’s National Economic Council (NEC) has approved the Renewed Hope Development Plan (2026–2030) to accelerate reforms toward achieving the country’s $1 trillion economy target.
The decision came during the council’s 151st meeting chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, said the plan forms part of a 30-year project to drive inclusive, sustainable, and accelerated growth.
He explained that it builds on existing policies, ensuring continuity and alignment with the Nigeria Agenda 2050 for long-term economic transformation.
