The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled November 20, 2025, for the trial of detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, who faces terrorism-related charges.
Justice James Omotosho fixed the new date on Friday after Kanu failed to present his defence within the six-day window earlier granted by the court. The judge noted that Kanu’s inaction nullifies any claim that his right to a fair hearing is being denied.
Kanu had previously been instructed to respond to the charges by November 5 or forfeit his right to defend himself.
The case was earlier adjourned on October 27, giving him until November 4 to file his final written address or begin his defence.
