Nigeria and Brazil have signed key agreements aimed at boosting economic cooperation, particularly in agriculture, at the ongoing BRICS Summit in Copacabana Forte.
Presidents Bola Tinubu and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva reached the deal as part of broader efforts to enhance trade and food security. Tinubu said the partnership would remove bottlenecks to doing business and help ensure Nigeria’s food sovereignty.
The agreement is part of Nigeria’s ongoing reforms to reposition the economy, with agriculture seen as a sector of strategic advantage.
Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture, Abubakar Kyari, welcomed the move and emphasized its potential to improve productivity and investment in the country’s food systems.
