In Nigeria, a series of bombings struck the northeastern state of Borno on Monday evening, leaving several people dead and many others injured.

The attacks targeted busy locations within the Maiduguri metropolis, causing panic among residents.

Those injured are receiving medical care at various health facilities, while joint security forces have been deployed to restore calm.

State Governor Babagana Zulum says an investigation has been launched into the incident.
