Belgian authorities have raised concerns about a significant increase in the number of young Nigerians seeking asylum, with approximately 50% of asylum seekers entering the country originating from Nigeria.
Many of these individuals are reported to be using irregular methods to enter Belgium.
Freddy Roosemont, the Director General of Belgium’s Immigration Office, shared this information during news conference over the weekend held in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.
