In Niger, the government has issued a stern warning to private schools that have failed to implement a mandatory 20% tuition fee discount.

Authorities say institutions that do not comply with the decree within a week risk suspension or outright closure.

The policy, introduced to ease the financial burden on families, has faced resistance from some private school operators citing operational costs.
