In Niger, mixed reactions are emerging over the activities of the Confederation of Sahel States following the conclusion of its second summit.

The summit of AES heads of state ended on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in Mali’s capital, Bamako.

While some citizens have welcomed the efforts of the military leaders, others are pushing for deeper integration.

Among the demands gaining attention is the call for the creation of a single currency within the AES region.
