The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkiye, Hakan Fidan, is arriving in Niger today, Thursday, on an official visit.
He is accompanied by a delegation consisting of the Ministers of Defense, Energy, and Natural Resources, as well as the head of the Turkish intelligence services, the Secretary of Defense Industry, and the Deputy Minister of Trade.
During his time in Niamey, Hakan Fidan will take part in a joint working meeting chaired by Prime Minister Larmine Zeine.
He will also engage in discussions about bilateral relations with the Nigerien transitional authorities, as well as current regional and international developments.
Turkey has been a significant partner of Niger for around ten years, with the presence of major Turkish companies in the country across various sectors, including defense, air transport, construction, energy, education, health, trade, and hospitality.
Moreover, it’s worth noting that the Turkish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs conducted a working visit to Niger in November 2023.
