In Niger, Prime Minister Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine’s authority has been strengthened following a new decree from the country’s transitional leader, General Abdourahmane Tiani.
The decree grants the Prime Minister the power to coordinate all government actions — a move seen as consolidating his role in managing the administration’s day-to-day affairs.
Political observers say the decision could signal efforts by the junta to streamline governance amid ongoing security and economic challenges.
