Niger has kicked off a five-day campaign to combat drug trafficking and the circulation of falsified medicines in the Tahoua region.
Launched on May 12 by Colonel-Major Oumarou Tawayé, the regional governor, the initiative aims to raise awareness among local populations about the dangers of illicit drugs and counterfeit pharmaceuticals.
The campaign will reach several communities across the region, with a focus on public education and prevention strategies.
Authorities hope the effort will strengthen community resilience and support law enforcement efforts in tackling the issue.
