Nigerien authorities have reported civilian casualties resulting from military strikes in response to a terrorist attack near the Burkina Faso border.

The Defense Ministry stated that the army repelled a terrorist assault on an advanced military post in Tiawa by a group of around twenty motorcycles.

Air strikes were conducted against another armed group heading toward the Tiawa post. During subsequent searches, civilian casualties were discovered, and injured individuals were evacuated for immediate treatment.
