Twenty soldiers and one civilian were killed yesterday Tuesday in the west of the country near the border with Burkina Faso. It was the Ministry of Defense which provided the information through a press release.
He adds that the attack was perpetrated by, I quote, “a coalition of terrorist groups.” The Nigerien army also recorded 9 injuries. According to the same press release, several dozen terrorists have been neutralized.
Nigerien authorities have declared three days of national mourning starting today, Wednesday.
