A fresh revelation by a supporter of Guinea’s ruling military has reignited public anger over the fate of two missing activists, Foniké Menguè and Billo Bah, who disappeared over a year ago.
Judicial authorities and government officials have long denied knowledge of their whereabouts. However, on Sunday, Taliby Dabo, a vocal supporter of the regime, claimed the activists are being held by authorities for “national security reasons.”
Foniké Menguè and Billo Bah were leading figures in the now-dissolved National Front for the Defense of the Constitution (FNDC), a movement critical of the current junta.
