A new assessment of the evolution of the monkeypox epidemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo shows that more than 500 deaths have been recorded since January 2024.
The DRC is the epicenter of the disease, which has been declared by the World Health Organization as a “public health emergency of international concern.”
The new report was released by the Congolese authorities. It must be stated that the disease is no longer confined to Africa, with one case detected in Europe.
