Under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, Morocco continues to modernize its national health system with the opening of 49 new urban and rural health centers designed to improve medical coverage and reduce regional disparities.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection, led by Amine Tehraoui, announced on Friday, October 24, 2025, that the new facilities are spread across nine regions of the Kingdom. This initiative forms part of a broader national reform program aimed at rebuilding, modernizing, and equipping 1,400 primary healthcare facilities — the cornerstone of Morocco’s public health system.

To ensure the rapid launch of these new centers, the ministry has mobilized 230 health professionals, including doctors, nurses, and technicians, to guarantee the continuity and quality of care.

Equipped with modern medical technology, these next-generation health centers will offer a comprehensive range of local services, including general consultations, chronic disease management, maternal and child health, school health, health education, and epidemiological monitoring.

The regions benefiting from this expansion include Souss–Massa, Casablanca–Settat, Marrakech–Safi, the Oriental region, Beni Mellal–Khenifra, Tangier–Tetouan–Al Hoceima, Rabat–Salé–Kénitra, Drâa–Tafilalet, and Laâyoune–Sakia El Hamra. This broad territorial coverage underscores Morocco’s determination to bring healthcare closer to its citizens, especially in rural and underserved areas.

With this initiative, Morocco reaffirms its commitment to building an accessible, equitable, and efficient health system, in line with the royal vision of sustainable and inclusive human development.
