Ghana’s Minority in Parliament is demanding that President John Mahama and Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine respond publicly to allegations raised by suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.
Speaking on Wednesday, Justice Torkornoo described the inquiry into her possible dismissal as a violation of due process and human rights, hinting at a coordinated effort to oust her from office unjustly.
Minority Leader Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin said the silence from the presidency and legal authorities is troubling, considering the gravity of the Chief Justice’s claims.
He called for immediate clarification and transparency to uphold judicial independence and public confidence in Ghana’s democratic institutions.
