Mali’s National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) has raised alarm over escalating restrictions on freedom of opinion and expression in the country.

The commission strongly condemned “any form of illegal restriction” as reports of arrests targeting critical voices continue to rise.

This comes amid growing concerns from rights groups about the shrinking space for free speech and political dissent in Mali.
