The General Staff of the Malian Armed Forces now prohibits soldiers in military uniform from posting sensitive images on social networks.

From now on, Malian soldiers must have authorization from the Ministry of Defense or Security before doing anything.

Soldiers who violate this provision will be punished with imprisonment from eleven days to six months and made to pay a fine of 50,000 to 150,000 francs ($85 to $255).

This comes after the publication of a video showing a man in military uniform disemboweling a corpse.

Etsey Atisu has the rest of the details of this report sent in by our correspondent in Bamako, Aliou Thiam.
