Mali’s healthcare system is facing disruptions as doctors stage a work stoppage to protest the arrest of a staff member at Gabriel Touré Hospital, one of Bamako’s largest medical facilities.
The national health union, which called for the strike, condemns the arrest as unjustified and is demanding the immediate release of their colleague.
The protest has slowed down medical services across the country, raising concerns over patient care.
