The Malian Ministry of Security and Civil Protection has announced the recruitment of 3,000 new uniformed personnel as part of its 2025–2026 Action Plan to strengthen internal security.
The current phase of the recruitment targets 2,000 peacekeepers for the National Police and 1,000 firefighters for the Civil Protection unit. Over the next two years, the government aims to mobilize over 24,000 security operatives across the country.
This move comes as Mali continues to grapple with increasing security threats in its central and northern regions. In line with this strategy, the internal security budget has also seen a 38% increase compared to 2023, signaling Bamako’s intensified efforts to safeguard its citizens.
