Mali is set to receive approximately $100 million from the International Monetary Fund to aid recovery efforts following the severe floods of 2024. The funding is part of a year-long agreement between the country and the IMF.

The floods, which swept across multiple regions of Mali, led to the displacement of thousands and caused significant loss of life and property. Many communities continue to struggle with damaged infrastructure and disrupted livelihoods.

Authorities say the funds will be directed toward rebuilding critical infrastructure, resettling affected families, and strengthening emergency preparedness systems. The government is also expected to improve transparency in the use of the funds.

This support from the IMF comes at a crucial time, as Mali faces mounting humanitarian needs amid broader political and economic instability.
