Mali has taken delivery of more than 80 fuel tankers from Niger, a critical shipment aimed at easing the severe fuel shortages that have recently hit the country.
The convoy, which travelled nearly 1,400 kilometres from Niamey to Bamako, arrived on Sunday under heavy military escort provided by the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
The delivery marks a significant demonstration of cooperation among Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso, as the AES bloc continues to deepen economic and security coordination amid regional tensions.
