The activities of political parties and associations in Mali have been suspended throughout the country until further notice.
The decision was taken by the Council of Ministers yesterday, Wednesday.
The transitional authorities cite reasons for public order.
This comes at a time when several political players are calling for an end to the military transition and the return of civilians to power.
The Ministry of Territorial Administration is instead calling for unity to ensure the success of the inter-Malian dialogue that began a week ago.
