In Mali, the trial of former Prime Minister Moussa Mara opened this Monday before the Cybercrime Court in Bamako.
Mara, who has been in detention since August 1, faces charges of damaging the credit of the State and opposing legitimate authority.
The case stems from a message he posted on social media declaring his resolve to fight “by all means” so that “the sun would succeed the night.” His allies have already begun mobilizing support around him as the proceedings unfold.
