In Mali, former Prime Minister Moussa Mara has been released after being questioned for several hours by judicial authorities on Wednesday.

The inquiry was linked to a recent social media post in which he expressed solidarity with prisoners of conscience.

Mara had also visited several high-profile detainees across the country in recent weeks, drawing attention to the plight of those he describes as unjustly imprisoned.
