The Declaration of March 31, a platform that brings together opposition political parties in Mali, has condemned the arrests of ten of its members last week.

In a press release, the platform said the attack is an umpteenth assault in place against fundamental freedoms, which are protected by the country’s constitutions and laws.

It will be recalled that the members of the opposition were arrested at the end of last week and appeared before the judge on Monday. They were then remanded into custody.

The ten are accused by the Malian justice system, among other things, of opposition to the exercise of legitimate authority and undermining public order.
