The Malian government’s decision to prioritize locally produced goods is generating optimism among national companies.

Under the new measure, each ministry will be required to allocate 100 million CFA francs in its 2026 budget for the purchase of local products.

Authorities say the initiative is expected to strengthen national production and provide critical support to small and medium-sized enterprises.

Abdullahi Hassan reports.
