In Mali, the Episcopal Bishop Conference has canceled the 54th annual pilgrimage to Kita, originally scheduled for November 29–30, 2025.
Church leaders cited the ongoing fuel shortage—triggered by a blockade on hydrocarbon imports imposed by the JNIM armed group—as the main reason for the decision.
Despite the cancellation, the bishops urged the Christian community to remain steadfast in prayer for peace and stability across the country.
